WHAT IS LRM’S SIGNATURE PROTECTIVE FINISH?
LRM Customs’ Signature Protective Finish is a durable, textured exterior coating designed for Jeeps, trucks, Broncos, SUVs and other custom or off road vehicles. It creates a lightweight, UV-stable and repairable barrier that helps resist scratches, brush marks, minor impacts and the wear that comes from daily driving, ranch use and off road trails.
Our Signature Protective Finish is also designed to provide added protection against hail up to the size of a quarter and we have seen coated vehicles withstand substantially larger hail. Its hail resistant performance has been featured on news channels as well.*
Often referred to or searched for as “Kevlar paint” or a “Kevlar coating,” LRM Customs’ Signature Protective Finish is our specialized application process. Every vehicle is carefully disassembled, professionally prepared and refinished at our Pantego facility near Arlington. With custom colors and graphics, the result is a protective exterior built to perform while adding a head turning look to your vehicle.

Yes. Our Signature Protective Finish is designed to provide added protection against light hail, typically around quarter-sized and smaller. We have also seen coated vehicles withstand substantially larger hail, and its hail-resistant performance has been featured by WFAA. Results vary based on hail size, wind speed, impact angle, the vehicle panel and other storm conditions, so protection against hail damage cannot be guaranteed.
Timing varies by vehicle, the scope of coverage, color or design choices and any bodywork that may be needed. After reviewing your build, our team will provide an estimated completion schedule before work begins.
Use a heated pressure washer with soap, keeping the nozzle about 6–9 inches from the surface. Do not use a 0-degree pressure-washer tip, abrasive polishes or harsh solvents. Follow the care and curing instructions provided when you pick up your vehicle.
Our Signature Protective Finish uses high-quality, UV-stable pigments and premium topcoats designed for long-term color retention. Like any exterior finish, its appearance over time can be affected by sun exposure, environment and care.
Yes. One of the advantages of our Signature Protective Finish is repairability. Many areas can be repaired and color-matched without refinishing the entire vehicle. Our team will inspect the damage and recommend the best repair approach.
